HARRY HAYEK HEADS HOME

June 28, 2016: Sydney driver Harry Hayek has been confirmed an entry aboard a fifth Team BRM car ahead of this weekend’s third round of the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Having raced with Team BRM in the 2015 Australian Formula 4 season, Hayek has returned to Australia and Team BRM after recently competing in British F4 with Jamun Racing.

“Really looking forward to racing at Sydney Motorsport Park against some of my mates and especially looking forward to catching up with Mark [Rundle] and the BRM boys,” Hayek said.

“I appreciate how good they are after my English experience, and they certainly wouldn’t look out of place in any European single seater championship.”

Unfortunately, Hayek’s European adventure came to a premature end after the recent demise of Jamun Racing leaving the New South Welshman without a drive in the championship.

“Not much luck in the UK. Unfortunately, the team I signed with went broke,” Hayek said.

“But we met some great people and I’ll never forget the experience.”

Whilst Hayek put in some impressive performances in British F4, Hayek is excited to regroup on home turf and enjoy racing without the off-track distractions. After also recently appearing in a one-off drive in Spanish F4, Hayek is reassessing all of his options with a view to lock in a drive next year.

“This weekend for me is about having fun again. I’m really looking forward to it,” Hayek said.

“As for the rest of this year we are just taking it race by race while we think about what direction we will head towards next season.”
